Juan Montoya
One of the most acclaimed and prolific interior designers in the world today, Juan Montoya was born and spent his early years in Columbia. After studying architecture in Bogotá, he moved to NY and graduated from Parsons School of Design. Following work and additionally studies in Paris and Milan, he returned to NYC where he founded his design business in which he established in 1978. In addition to his design firm, he also has a furniture line and a custom fabric line in which he is partnered with Anthony Lawrence-Belfair. He is a member of the Interior Design Hall of Fame, a recipitant of an honorary Doctrine in Fine Arts from Parsons and several times been named to Architectural Digests Top 100 Designers. A truly original thinker, Juan is never wedded to on particular style or period. His exquisite juxtaposition of texture, color and volumes, mixed with thoughtful attention make Juan Montoya one of the best the design world has to offer.
